Hello, and thank you for visiting my website! My name is James Westling and I am a sports broadcaster. I have over a decade of experience as a radio and television play-by-play announcer.

I’ve called games featuring teams from the Big 12, Pac-12, Atlantic 10, Mountain West, and more. My television experience includes ESPN+, ESPN3, and FloSports TV. I’ve been on the mic for NCAA DI men’s basketball, DI women’s basketball, DI women’s soccer, DI baseball, and small college football via the aforementioned networks.

On radio, I am the lead play-by-play announcer for Rocking M. Media, the largest locally owned media company in the state of Kansas. I’ve served as the play-by-play “voice” of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Radio Network, which has been heard in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. It’s also been my pleasure to contribute as a fill-in for Kansas State University, and Learfield IMG College.

Hired in April 2009, my full time position is Operations Manager for Rocking M. Media’s six station cluster in Salina, Kansas. I also work in the Rocking M. Media sales department as an account executive, handling both local direct and agency accounts. In 2015, I worked with the KCAC league commissioner to spearhead the launch of the KCAC Radio Network, which features eight affiliate stations.

I was born and raised in Topeka, Kan. and graduated from Washburn Rural High School. I then attended Kansas State University and was the Sports Director for KSDB Manhattan, the on campus K-State student station, from 2007-2008.

I graduated from Kansas State University in 2008 with a B.S. in Mass Communications and a minor in Leadership Studies.

My hobbies include spending time with my family (I’m married with three children, and a dog!), lifting weights, playing basketball, reading, working on our home, and catching up on my favorite TV shows.
